This Masters programme is a one year full time European course in
Environmental Technology and Management suitable for graduates in Chemistry,
Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or similar subjects.
Aims of the Masters Course

- Knowledge of environmental law and management in Europe

The content of the course is delivered in 10 modules and a practical project
with double weight. These modules are:
- Environmental Field: Water
- Toxicology
- Environmental Field: Soil
- Energy
- Raw Materials and Waste
- Environmental Field: Air
- Technology, Economy, Environment and Man
- Economy, Process-Control and Management in Industry
- Environmental Protection and Laws in the Different Countries ofEurope
- Research and Communication Methodology
Master's Thesis / final project
The course participants will work on an eight-week project, related to
environmental problems or techniques. This project work can be undertaken at one
of the partner institutions or in industry.
The course will take place at three different locations within Europe:
- from the first of September to the end of December at Aalborg Universitet, Esbjerg (DK)
- from January to the end of April at Fachhochschule Oldenburg / Ostfriesland / Wilhelmshaven (University of Applied Sciences), Emden (D)
- from May to the end of August at De Montfort University, Leicester (GB).

The three universities will take care for rooms at the three locations

The teaching staff are specialists who come from universities, industries
and other organisations of six participating European countries.

The participants must have
- a diploma (University or Fachhochschule) degree or
- a Bachelor or an equivalent degree
in the field of Chemical Engineering / Chemistry, Biotechnology or similar subjects.
Sufficient knowledge of the English language is
necessary. The participants may be interested in an additional intensive English language course
in Leicester or Esbjerg before the Masters course starts.
Fees
For EU-students there will be a fee of about 4000 Euros for the course
(fee for NON-EU students upon request). Grants may be available for EU students.
NON-EU students should refer to websites www.daad.de and
www.cdc.de.
Nigerian students could also refer to www.ptdf.com.
Visa
Students coming from states not belonging to the European Union need visa
for Denmark, Germany and the United Kingdom. It takes about 4 months to get a
visa.

Deadline for application:
- for students origin of states not belonging to the European Union the deadline is the 15th of March (due to the time needed to get a visa);
- for students from member states of the European Union the deadline is the 1st of July.
Workload: The study is intensive. As the content of 3 semesters is transferred in one year the workload is very high.
